Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences i.e. BNYS course is an undergraduate level degree program, which involves the study of Naturopathy Medicine and Therapeutic Yoga.

Naturopathy is a process of treatment with the help of the vital curative force that exists within the body without any drug or medicine. The diseases are cured with natural elements based on the Theory of vitality, theory of toxemia, theory of self healing capacity of the body and the principles of healthy living.

Certain techniques are used in this type of treatment like exercise, healthy diet, meditation massage therapy, and Yoga. It helps the human body system to remove the cause of disease by expelling unwanted and unused matters from the body.

Students pursuing the BNYS course will also become a doctor equivalent to MBBS. BNYS course is governed by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM), which is the statutory apex body working under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of AYUSH.

In order to take admission for the BNYS course in any Government or Private colleges, candidates need to appear for Entrance exams, followed by a round of personal interviews.

The admission process generally varies across institutes. In the personal interview round, the candidate’s general aptitude for the course is examined and a merit list is then issued by the institute, declaring the names of all the selected students.

Private universities provide admission to candidates on the basis of their NEET or any other Entrance exam score. A few institutes also provide direct admission to candidates on the basis of their scores at the 10+2 level.

NOTE: *most widely accepted entrance is NEET Exam which is compulsory for few Universities.

The Average Annual Fees for BUMS Course is between ₹ 50,000 to ₹ 2,00,000 depending on the college you choose. Generally, fees for Private colleges are higher than in Government Colleges.

**The final year of the BNYS course comprises a 1-year Internship, which is mandatory for all students.

The salary of a BNYS graduate working as a Naturopath is between ₹ 2 – 5 lacs per annum. Para-clinical Specialists specialize in one or several lab tests or procedures that can earn up to ₹ 3-7 lacs per annum. A mid-career Obstetrician/Gynecologist with 5-9 years of experience earns an average of ₹ 10-12 lacs per annum whereas a Dietician/Nutritionist with 1-2 years of experience can earn up to ₹5 lacs per annum.
